"He was killed?" Lily asks and there isn't any judgment, just a question. It may not even be the right question, it may not be what happened at all, but the way Faye is speaking makes it sound that way and she's curious. Not only is she curious, but she thinks talking might be a way to deal with it, at least a little. Not a perfect solution, maybe not even the right one, but it might help Faye a little bit and that's all she really wants.
She hefts the bag onto her shoulder again and stands. It's about as full as it's going to get now and she nods her head toward the water in a question. Do they take them out there now or does Faye want to collect them all, make sure there are none left in the sand? There's no boat near them, but she can find one or find someone to take them out.
